Some thoughts I scribbled in March…

Today is the sort of day that makes you want to say snap. Because you’ve seen this day before. The clouds are really high, and there’s some storm in them. But there’s sun as well, and it’s only early autumn, but it has that feel about it, that freshness on the air. Crisp.

And I think this: navy blue cardigan, silver steel bench, a message to visit the principal’s office.

And I feel like Eskimo Joe should be playing.

And I think torn ligaments and tendons with the name of a jazz singer.

And I think money.

And I think where did that four wheel drive even come from? And are they mad they I didn’t indicate before I reversed into that parking spot? And I think, oh, sorry.

And also, I’m not sure that you can say ‘what’s your poison?’ in a coffee shop. I feel like this is something you can only say if you’re in a pub. And also, it needs to be the eighties and you need to be a middle-aged man with sun-leathered skin.

And finally I wonder, why is it that I always, always forget my ipod when I go to the gym?
