On September 15, 2011 I must have been having a bad day. I think at that stage, I’d been on antidepressants about two months – so my body was probably still getting used to them I suppose. But here’s the thing, something must have happened to make me want to snap out of it – because here’s what I wrote on Facebook that day:
“Tomorrow’s a new day? Fuck that, right now, this minute, is a new minute. So pull yourself together, put some music on and get the hell on with it. Oh yeah, and chocolate, eat some damn chocolate.”
I think it did work – for a little while at least, and it sparked an interesting chocolate related conversation in the comments. The best thing that came out of it though, was a comment from a friend who is battling cancer – and when I say battling, I mean kicking butt. This girl is inspirational – she is constantly posting status updates on Facebook that fill anyone who reads them with feel-good vibes. She’s like a powerful ball of energy, proving that strength, confidence and happiness are everything. She reminds me of what’s important in life.
Her comment on this particular status update was the following: “OMG I picked up my ph just at the right time – soooooo needed to read a status like that right now!!! LUV IT!” – knowing that I could in some ever so small way give a little something back to her, to this girl who is always inspiring everyone else – made that status update completely worthwhile.
