Indulgence Abides

Soft, doughy flesh

like kneaded fresh bread.

Indulgence abides me

today.

Lemon meringue quilt,

crisp toffee sheets

and indulgence abides

me today.

Columns of gold

hold specks of glitter

suspended in their wake.

Skin against skin,

sliding within,

let indulgence

abide me today.

Walk with me

now.

Come with me

now.

We’ll dissolve and leave

not one trace.

Rocking and melting,

sighing and sweltering,

let’s tip-toe, let’s run,

now let’s race.
